I’m really excited to be working alongside Akwugo as part of the Social Justice team and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all.
For the cohort attending the policy analysis session tonight, I will be joining in with you all soon. For those of you taking Monday’s TPSJ class, I’ll meet you all for the first time on Monday 1st Feb as we continue to discuss and critically reflect on the concept of distributive justice.
In due course, I’ll share some information about myself (and a link to my staff profile once I make one!). For now I thought it important to just say hi to you all and I hope that January is being kind.
I have moved from the University of Dundee where I was a lecturer in Community Learning and Development. I completed my PhD at Moray House School of Education prior to that. My doctoral thesis focused on climate change activism as ‘public pedagogy’. I have also studied community education, educational research and worked in youth and community work in Edinburgh.
For a bit of personal context, I just had a wee boy over the festive break (4 weeks old) and am a longtime hiphop nerd.
Akwugo gave me a quick insight into the geographical and professional diversity across the programme, which must make for some really interesting discussions. I look forward to being part of them.
Speak to you all soon and best of luck this semester.
