I’m delighted to confirm that Dr. Stuart Connor, Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Birmingham, has been appointed as the External Examiner for our programme. Stuart describes his area of expertise as such:
‘My teaching and research interests include critical approaches to the analysis of contemporary social policy and practice. This work includes examining the role of governments, trade unions, NGOs, social movements, communities and practitioners in the fabrication of “social problems” and attempts to legitimate, challenge and shape particular policy responses’.
The role of the external examiner is to provide quality assurance for the teaching and assessment for the programme. Stuart will review an anonymised selection of your work and my marking of your work to ensure that it meets the high standards for postgraduate studies at the University of Edinburgh.
