Theories and Politics of Social Justice (TPSJ) starts on Monday 19th January with a lecture at 19.00 GMT. Unless otherwise noted, all lectures for this course will take place on Mondays at 19.00 GMT. If you can’t make the live lectures, not to worry, they will be recorded and ready to stream the following day. Substantive debate about the lectures and readings takes place on the weekly discussion fora–these are our tutorials.
In preparation for TPSJ, please ensure you do the following:
1. Make sure you run a Collaborate compatibility check on your device(s) before Monday’s session. Collaborate is our virtual classroom where all our lectures take place. It is essential that you are able to access this application and that you familiarise yourself with its functions and tools to get the most out of your lectures. If you’re having any problems with Collaborate, please email Duncan for help.
2. Please set up your blogs and add me as a user. Your blog is a critically reflective space for you to think through concepts and ideas away from the cut and thrust of the discussion forum. Weekly blogging about the lectures and readings counts for 50% of your assessment. I will be commenting on your posts so I need access to your blog. Instructions on setting up your blog are in the Technologies Handbook.
3. Actively participate in the weekly discussion forum. The forum is your collaborative tutorial space for debating with colleagues, clarifying concepts and taking issue with the position and arguments put forward by authors.
I’m looking forward to working with you on this course. If you have any questions, please get in touch!
